Parking Management

Parking Management measures favoring carpools and vanpools are important tools in assisting with our goals and they offer benefits to the employer as well. They are:

• parking charges for drive alone commuter parking
• preferential parking for carpool and vanpool vehicles
• elimination of free or low cost on street parking employment areas
• lots established outside of work site keeping vehicles out of congested employment areas

Preferential Parking

Preferential Parking policies which only favor carpools and vanpools help sustain car and vanpools. They may include:

• assigning them the most desirable spaces
• the elimination or reduction of parking charges for car/vanpools
• exemptions for hourly parking limits

Harrison Parking Center, a new privately owned parking facility near the Harrison PATH station, offers several preferred parking spaces for Hudson TMA registered carpools. Several Hudson County businesses have designated spaces at their employee parking lots for carpools as well.
